Free family movie nights to be held in Nitro

As a free summer activity, the City of Nitro will host family movie nights every Tuesday through July except for holidays.

Movies will be shown at the new Living Memorial Park, 21st Street and Second Avenue, Nitro.

“This is a community, family-oriented event that will create memories that children will cherish throughout life,” Mayor Dave Casebolt said. “It allows the community to come together during the summer evenings to enjoy fellowship and relaxation.”

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. food vendors and kettle corn will be available, and inflatables for the children will be opened until the movie begins. The movie will begin at dusk.

The scheduled films are:

• July 11 – “Pete’s Dragon”

• July 18 – “The Secret Life of Pets”

• July 25 – “A Dog’s Purpose.”
