Gyro/baklava sale returns to Kanawha City on Saturday
To paraphrase the late David Bowie, you can eat gyros for just one day.
That day is this Saturday, May 20, during the “My Big Bat Gyro and Baklava Sale -- The Sequel,” at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 3512 MacCorkle Ave., S.E., in Kanawha City.
The second annual, Greek-themed culinary event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, with plenty of free parking available.
Available for dining in or taking out will be classic Greek menu items including lamb/beef and chicken gyros; Greek salad; preservative-free, Greek-style hummus; and Baklava dessert pastry.
The beverage selection will include bottled water, a selection of sodas, and Mythos Beer, an imported, Greek-brewed pale lager.
St. John Greek Orthodox Church is located between the 35th Street Bridge and the Interstate 64 entrance bridge on MacCorkle Avenue.
