Zumbathon and raffle set for Saturday at Elk Elementary Center

Join a Zumbathon or purchase tickets for basket raffles from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Elk Elementary Center. Proceeds will benefit Herbert Hoover High School’s Project Graduation 2017.

Attendees will pay $10 for two hours of Zumba with Tina Thaxton. Anyone can purchase $1 tickets for the basket raffle. All proceeds go to the party that is “One for the Ages” for seniors who have faced a very different year after the June 23, 2016 flood devastated the Elk River community.

Baskets include WVU, Marshall and ladies’ themes. Donors to the baskets include LuLaRoe and Michael’s Unique Styles Salon. Winners do not need to be present, but will need to arrange the pick up of prizes.

Youth and parents have been working for months to raise funds to help provide a drug and alcohol-free party. The goal is to give Hoover seniors on graduation evening a choice of fun activities, tasty food, prizes and gifts.

Herbert Hoover Project Graduation all night, drug and alcohol free parties have occurred for many years. Every donation is greatly appreciated. For more information, call 304-444-6962.
