UUC hosting holistic health and wellness fair Saturday
A Holistic Health and Wellness Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 520 Kanawha Blvd., W., in Charleston.
The Health and Wellness Fair, in conjunction with Chi-Lin Martial Arts Association and the West Virginia Wellness Community, is being held on the 18th Annual World Tai Chi and Qigong Day.
Admission is free.
The fair will feature keynote speaker Dr. Don Gartman, whose topic is “Wild Foods Preparation and Collecting.” The event will also include additional speakers, authors, more than 30 vendors, demonstrations of martial art forms, Tai Chi, yoga, yoga dance, chakra dance, and acupuncture; art, music and aromatherapy and free massages. An array of ethnic foods will be for sale throughout the day, including West African, Persian, Italian and several vegan dishes.
The fair is focused on integrative, holistic modalities; services; products and healthful foods. Books by the authors and hemp products will be for sale.
Raffle tickets will be sold for services and products donated by the vendors.
The annual fair is a fundraiser for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Charleston and is designed to promote individuals, businesses and ideas devoted to healthy lifestyles, prevention, natural healing and for greater awareness and better education.
